Our former Club Secretary, Bryan Peel, has been presented with the C A Rhodes Memorial Lifetime Achievent award. Bryan Joined Drig BC in 1947 aged 12 years old. A formal presentation was held at the Annual Prize Presentation on Friday 20th January. Bryan's service and dedication over the past 65 years to cycling is never likely to be equalled.
We have received congratulations from Manchester Wheelers via e-mail, as follows:
"On behalf of the Manchester Wheelers’ Club I would like to offer our congratulations to the members of the Drighlington BC in general and Bryan Peel in particular on his receiving the C.A. Rhodes Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award for over sixty years of service to the sport and pastime of cycling.
This level of contribution to our sport, coupled with his ‘one-and-only’ club membership since 1947, will possibly never be equalled."

The event fees, which totalled £652.52 from the DBC 25 mile Time Trial in August which had to be abandoned due to bad weather have been donated to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
